Resources
Even if you're planning to develop a site on your own, you can begin by contacting the SAMPE office to see if it is beneficial for you to leverage the website packages SAMPE has available along with the design and technical experts listed below. Taking advantage of their knowledge at the beginning of your project will almost certainly save time and money.

CREATING A NEW SITE

Follow the steps outlined below to create a Web site.

1. Web Site Planning. In planning your site, you and your stakeholders should agree on the site's purpose, audience, objectives, scope, budget, schedule, responsibilities, and risks...

2. Conceptual Design.During the conceptual design phase, map the site flow using storyboarding or other techniques; establish the content structure and navigation; determine the technology approach; define and document the process for authoring, reviewing, and approving content; and create a prototype as needed to validate the design. Then refine the budget and schedule as necessary...

If you don't have a professional communicator on your team already, this is a good time to include one. A writer or editor will add a valuable perspective on ways to organize and present your material effectively. If you do not have such a person readily available, contact sampeinfo@mollyduggan.com for help.

3. Implementation. This phase includes building the site framework, loading the content, testing the site, obtaining approvals, and launching the site.

4. Maintenance and Continuous Improvement. For suggestions and tools for keeping your site fresh, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement packages are available by contacting sampeinfo@mollyduggan.com.
